DuroVac and Eurovac are both serious industrial vacuum brands, but they are not interchangeable. The right choice depends on what is hard about your facility: dense material, long pickup runs, multiple operators, energy profile, hazardous dust, or installation constraints.
TVD Industries works brand-agnostically. DuroVac is our primary fit for many mid-market industrial facilities, especially where heavy material handling or vac truck replacement is the problem. Eurovac is often the better conversation when the facility needs a centralized, multi-drop system for repeatable light-to-medium cleanup across several work areas.
The Short Version
| Decision Point | DuroVac Is Usually Stronger When… | Eurovac Is Usually Stronger When… |
|---|---|---|
| Material | Debris is dense, abrasive, compacted, wet, or piled. | Dust and debris are lighter and spread across many stations. |
| User pattern | A few operators need strong pickup, or a central DuroVac system is engineered for larger crews. | Many drops need consistent access throughout the day. |
| Vacuum producer | Positive displacement power is preferred for difficult conveyance. | Centrifugal or multi-stage central systems fit the operating pattern. |
| Typical use case | Metal, mining, food powders, construction material, or vac truck replacement. | Automotive, detail bays, commercial shops, and high-drop central systems. |
This table is a starting point, not a substitute for sizing. Pipe run, material density, dust hazard classification, available power, and simultaneous use all affect the final recommendation.
Where DuroVac Fits Best
DuroVac is the first brand we look at when the job involves heavy pickup, dense material, abrasive debris, or long-term replacement of periodic vac truck service. The PowerLift line uses positive displacement vacuum power and hopper-style collection for large cleanup work. DuroVac also builds central systems from DVR, DVP, PowerLift, Elevator, and custom configurations when a plant needs permanent vacuum access.
That matters in facilities where suction drop is not just inconvenient. Metal chips, silica-bearing dust, compacted powders, glass, ceramics, clay, and food ingredients can expose weak systems quickly. A small vacuum may move light dust in a demo and still fail once operators try to collect dense piles through a long hose or pipe run.
Good DuroVac candidates: facilities replacing vac truck visits, collecting heavy process debris, needing HEPA filtration for silica exposure control, or planning a permanent industrial vacuum network where positive displacement performance is the right engineering choice.

Where Eurovac Fits Best
Eurovac is strongest when the problem is distribution: many pickup points, repeatable operator behavior, and a centralized system that needs to serve a work area cleanly all day. Its central vacuum lineup includes smaller EII systems for one to four operators and larger EIII centrifugal systems for multi-bay environments. Eurovac also offers positive displacement options, so the brand should not be reduced to one technology.
In practice, we often consider Eurovac for automotive, collision repair, car wash/detail, commercial shop, and multi-station production environments where operators need convenient drops rather than one large cleanup event. The right Eurovac system can make vacuum access part of the daily workflow instead of a special cleanup project.
Good Eurovac candidates: shops with several work bays, frequent light-to-medium cleanup, predictable drop locations, and a central system layout where airflow distribution matters more than bulk material recovery.

Compliance: Do Not Buy the Brand, Buy the Correct Specification
Both brands can support safer housekeeping, but compliance is not automatic just because a well-known name is on the equipment. OSHA’s 1910.22 walking-working surface rule focuses on clean, orderly, hazard-free surfaces. OSHA’s 1910.1053 silica standard applies when respirable crystalline silica exposure is in scope. Combustible dust work may also require NFPA-driven analysis and equipment protection.
For DuroVac, do not assume every line has the same rating. LIFETIME portable units are an OSHA silica-focused, single-operator solution. DVR/DVP, PowerLift, Elevator, and central configurations are where NFPA-compliant applications usually enter the conversation. For Eurovac, the same discipline applies: the system has to be specified for the dust, electrical classification, filtration need, and pipe velocity.
Important: if the environment is ATEX-rated, Class II, Division 1/2, or otherwise explosion-risk classified, TVD may specify a dedicated explosion-proof line such as TigerVac rather than forcing DuroVac or Eurovac into a job they are not meant to cover.

How TVD Makes the Recommendation
Before recommending DuroVac or Eurovac, we look at five practical questions. These are the questions that keep the decision grounded in the floor, the material, and the inspection risk.
What material is being collected?
Density, abrasiveness, moisture, ignition risk, and particle size matter.
How many operators use the system at once?
A one-operator portable and a plant-wide central system are different engineering problems.
How far does the material travel?
Long hose and pipe runs change the required vacuum and airflow.
What happens to the collected material?
Drum, bag, hopper, roll-off, and reclamation workflows all change the equipment choice.
What standards apply?
Silica, combustible dust, cleanroom, food-grade, and electrical classification rules can override a simple brand preference.
That is why the best answer is rarely “DuroVac is better” or “Eurovac is better.” The right answer is the one that matches the floor, the material, the operators, and the inspection risk.
